What can I say?

I love Southeast Arizona and am proud to call this area my home. Growing up in Sierra Vista, Arizona, I was busy playing year around sports and my first job at twelve years old was being a paperboy for the local newspaper. I will always remember not wanting to wake up early Sunday mornings to deliver the newspapers; however, the reward of fresh baked cinnamon rolls from one of my best customers was enough to get me out of bed.

I received my Bachelors of Science from The University of Arizona and during my Audiology graduate program I was able to accomplish a personal goal of mine in having the opportunity to teach. I have many teachers in my family and I thought for sure teaching was going to be the professional path that I would take. What inspired me to become an Audiologist was when I was working on Ft. Huachuca, Arizona, as a sub-contractor and I was able to talk with many soldiers who were having difficulties hearing and with tinnitus.

I love the field I chose because of the people I get to work with. Seeing different patients, each presenting with their own unique challenges to address is what is exciting. I may not be getting the reward of fresh cinnamon rolls each morning, but there’s nothing better than the reward of getting to know so many different people, hearing their stories, meeting their families and finding the most appropriate solutions for their hearing difficulties.
