One of the biggest contributors to hearing loss<\/a> is loud noise\u2014particularly from music. The dangers weren\u2019t as well-known 50 years ago; much like cigarettes, many people didn\u2019t think a few hours of screaming guitar solos could cause harm.<\/p>\n

A recent Harris Poll<\/a> surveyed 1,000 adults aged 65 to 80\u2014the so-called \u201cWoodstock Generation.\u201d Almost half who listened to loud or very loud music in their teens\u201447 percent\u2014are dealing with hearing loss today. Other findings from the survey:<\/p>\n
