Dr. Gregory T. Swingle is a native of southern Arizona and has focused his career on providing high-quality, personalized hearing healthcare for each one of his patients. He received his Audiology Doctoral Degree from the University of Arizona and decided to complete his clinical externship at the Washington D.C. VA Medical Center. He then returned to Arizona where he worked as a dispensing audiologist in Phoenix prior to joining Arizona Hearing Specialists in 2009. Dr. Swingle married Kristi Hesse (another audiologist at Arizona Hearing Specialists) in 2017; they took over as owners when the founding director, Dr. Janis Gasch, retired in early 2018. The Swingles continually strive to provide the best hearing healthcare to all of southern Arizona.

Dr. Kristi Swingle (formerly Hesse) received both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in speech and hearing sciences from the University of Arizona; she received her Audiology Doctoral Degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, School of Audiology. She spent the last year of her graduate degree program with Arizona Hearing Specialists as a student intern. Dr. Swingle worked here four years before leaving in 2006 to take a clinical professorship at the University of Arizona. After a wonderful experience at the university, she was excited to return to Arizona Hearing Specialists. In 2017, Dr. Swingle married Dr. Gregory Swingle, another audiologist at Arizona Hearing Specialists. Upon the retirement of the founding director, Dr. Janis Gasch, in 2018, Dr. Swingle and her husband became the new owners of Arizona Hearing Specialists. It is their goal to provide the best personalized hearing healthcare services to all individuals.

Dr. Nick Ramirez, a proud Arizona native, has been part of the southern Arizona community for the past 30 years. He received his Audiology Doctoral Degree from the University of Arizona and remains a loyal Wildcat fan through thick and thin. Dr. Ramirez is passionate about patient care. He believes that communication through good hearing is the key to good relationships. Family involvement and support are critical factors in the rehabilitation process, in conjunction with hearing aids and assistive listening devices. His areas of interest include diagnostic audiology, hearing aid technology, tinnitus management, cochlear implant candidacy/mapping and aural rehabilitation. Dr. Ramirez is known for providing quality service and his compassion toward his patients.

Tucson native, Dr. John Cobb has a wealth of audiology experience. The Rincon High School graduate received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in audiology from the University of Arizona. He served as the coordinator of audiology at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston from 1975-79 and then went on to be the director of COBB Audiology & Hearing Aid Center in Fort Worth, TX from 1979 until 2009. Dr. Cobb practices what he preaches – he wears hearing devices as a result of what he describes as a “music-induced hearing loss.”

Dr. Cheri Oswant has more than 30 years’ experience in the field of Audiology. Her roots are in Pennsylvania. She attended The Pennsylvania State University where she received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in communication disorders. She received her Audiology Doctoral Degree from The Pennsylvania College of Optometry, School of Audiology. Dr. Oswant has had a vast and varied career, working in both clinical settings as well as spending time on the manufacturer’s side of the business.

Dr. Cheri Oswant has more than 30 years’ experience in the field of Audiology. Her roots are in Pennsylvania. Dr. Oswant has had a vast and varied career, working in both clinical settings as well as spending time on the manufacturer’s side of the business.
The effects of hearing loss are personal for Dr. Oswant. She understands the frustration and family dynamics that take place when someone has hearing loss. Her goal is to educate her patients and their families about their hearing loss and to help minimize the effects they may experience in their daily lives.
Dr. Oswant is relatively new to Tucson. She joins Arizona Hearing Specialists after spending over a year at Banner University Medical Center, where she primarily worked at the North Hills location before the department was closed.
