Improving Lives: Our Partnership with St. Andrew’s Children’s Clinic

Arizona Hearing Specialists is a proud supporter of St. Andrew’s Children’s Clinic in Nogales, Arizona, the longest running border health project in the U.S. St. Andrew’s provides free hearing healthcare services on the first Thursday of each month to children from Mexico with serious medical problems who don’t have access to care or treatment. Dr. Gasch and her staff volunteer their time and services to the more than 200 children who seek treatment at St. Andrew’s every month.

We invite you to join us in supporting St. Andrew’s Children’s Clinic by donating your old or unused hearing aids. Our audiologists service all donated devices, then reprogram and fit them for a child in need. Your unwanted hearing aids can make a tremendous difference for a hearing-impaired child, and we are always happy to accept donations or answer any questions you may have.

Hearing Loss Prevention Education: Our Work with Mountain View High School

As part of Arizona Hearing Specialists’ ongoing commitment to help all members of the Tucson community to hear their best and live their best, we have partnered with Mountain View High School’s marching band to spread the word about hearing loss prevention. Spearheaded by Dr. Janis Gasch, Arizona Hearing Specialists got involved with Etymotic’s Adopt-a-Band Program to provide each of the band’s 130 members with top-of-the-line earplugs for hearing protection.

“We…are incredibly grateful to Dr. Gasch and the experts at Arizona Hearing Specialists for ensuring that every single band member has access to quality ear protection. That shows their commitment to the community and their efforts to prevent unnecessary hearing loss.”

Along with sponsoring the band through providing earplugs, Dr. Gasch spent her time attending band practices, speaking with the students about the importance of preventing noise-induced hearing loss, and reaching out to parents to educate them about the risks of hearing loss caused by exposure to loud noise as well. Dr. Gasch and the entire team at Arizona Hearing Specialists is looking forward to a lasting relationship with Mountain View’s band program to ensure future generations are properly educated and equipped to effectively combat noise-induced hearing loss.
